Role of the Family Justice Council
The Council's primary role is to promote an inter-disciplinary approach to the needs of family justice, and through consultation and research, to monitor the effectiveness of the system and advise on reforms necessary for continuous improvement.
Message from the Chairman and Deputy Chairman:
"We are excited at the prospects opened by the creation of the Family Justice Council.
"We are grateful to the Department of Constitutional Affairs for giving us this opportunity. I believe firmly that the response of the many disciplines engaged in the family justice system will be enthusiastic and generous. Together there is so much that we can tackle, not only in consolidating projects already under way but also in innovating in areas that were beyond the reach of the President's Committees. We will, have the expertise, the experience and the resources. We must not fail for want of will conviction or courage."
